The Munitions Industrial Base Task Force is a group of 22 companies in the munitions business who have come together to pursue a common goal:

Adequate funding and policies to sustain a responsive, capable
U.S. munitions industrial base to develop, produce, and
support superior munitions for the U.S. and its allies.

Task Force membership represents most of the major munitions prime contractors, as well as a cross-section of subcontractors and suppliers. These companies manage both government-owned facilities as well as those owned solely by the private sector. The Task Force does not advocate specific programs on behalf of any of its members.

The Task Force was established as a non-profit association on July 1, 1993 with a small staff in Arlington, Virginia.

About Us

The MIBTF is a 501(c)(6) non-profit corporation established to is to educate key individuals and groups within the United States Government as to the status of the U.S. munitions industry and to recommend actions, when necessary, to ensure a capable and resilient munitions industrial base.Accordingly, membership in the Task Force is limited to U.S. companies having production facilities in the United States.

• Board of Directors (BoD): The BoD is comprised of member company Presidents or senior Executives and meets once or twice each year. Provides oversight direction to the Task Force.• Executive Board of Directors (EBoD): The EBoD is comprised of four member company Presidents who are elected by the full Board. The EBoD meets monthly but not in months when a full Board meeting is scheduled. The EBoD provides strategic direction to Task Force efforts.• Government Engagement Committee (GEC): Comprised company representatives who focus on Congressional Relations, Business Operations, and International Sales. The GEC meets monthly to provide input to Task Force efforts in the National Capitol area, help develop and execute Congressional Strategy, and identify issues in the international sales process, identify remedies, and assist in issue resolution.• Task Force Staff and Consultants: The Task Force Executive Director and Administrative Assistant are the only full-time staff. We have two consultants and a corporate counsel; this will vary according to the objectives decided upon by the Board of Directors.

Day & Zimmermann Munitions and Government Group (DZMG) – Part of the Day & Zimmermann Company, produces a wide range of U.S. Munitions Products. Operating out of multiple locations including the D&Z American Ordnance LLC company (operating contractor for the Iowa and Milan Army Ammunition Plants), Texarkana – the former Lone Star AAP and Kansas – the former Kansas AAP. DZMG provides high volume Medium/Large Caliber direct fire munitions as well as High Explosive loading of Warheads, Artillery/Mortar projectiles, Hand emplaced munitions, demolition charges and other related commercial products.

Expal produces ammunition from 5.56mm to aircraft bombs and is well known for its artillery and mortar systems. Expal has a load, assemble, and pack facility in the US and a nascent pyrotechnic capabilities. Expal USA’s mission at TexAmericas is creating a demilitarization facility with the development of new energetics for the DoD, and load assembly and packing operations for conventional ammunition.
